Can we crowd source some funds to buy
every congressman's internet activities
and post them on line for everyone to see?

Well, first you will have to re-obtain all those raises you never got for the past 4 decades that fill the pockets of your Corporate Overlords, the folks that line the pockets of your Congresscritters.

CIA, NSA, FBI all illegally spying on us....

Don't worry! It's going to be legal soon when they sign the piece of paper with the magic ink after they all look around the room and give nods of confirmation without our consent or consultation.

Then it will be righteous!

Well AFAIK your golden boy trump seems like he's all buddy buddy with em, so not until we have electoral reform and vote out the two main stream political parties.

First Past The Post Voting

Range Voting

The Green Primary

Single Transferable Vote

Alternative Vote

Mixed-Member Proportional Representation

Ever since I woke up to the global elite and deep state/shadow government control over our system, I've been against every President. Both parties really stopped representing the people's wishes and put the global elite's agenda first. I'm happy to admit Trump has many faults but I think it can be argued that his win is further proof to your point that we need to move away form 2 main stream parties. Trump ran as Republican but has been Democrat and also joined the Reform Party in the past. His win was really more of a populist movement and the people saying fuck you, we've had it with all these career politicians. I voted Libertarian for years and it literally felt like I was just throwing my vote away.

now they want the ISP in bed with them

The ISPs are already in bed with them and this rule doesn't change that. The alleged purpose of this is to prevent the ISPs from selling that information to someone other than the government.

The solution is to browse safely and use encryption.

Here's a great reminder that there is no "democrats and republicans" - they split the job of fucking the country, where the dems won't the reps will. If Trump doesn't veto this, it is absolute proof he's controlled.

[–] TheonGreyjoy 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Sadly, I don't think he will veto it. I hope he does, but we were fucked no matter what in this regard. He's not a supporter of net neutrality.

Republicans, Democrats, both are fuckers who don't care about you, they just tow their party lines and vote based on what their party wants.

[–] Broc_Lia 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Ok, say it gets vetoed, do you really trust the FCC, or any other branch of the US government, to act in your best interests? Do you really think the FCC aren't controlled?

Less government power is always better.

This is to stop the ISP from selling information which is far less regulated than the gov't. Companies won't be holding back selling people's information.

[–] Rurntis 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Do you have any popular examples of that readily available? In an argument elsewhere and it'd be helpful. Cause they're like see it's just the republicans!!

[–] oddjob 1 points 30 points (+31|-1) ago

They are pushing this through so that way they don't need a warrant to get someone's internet history. If the information is available to purchase, then its not considered private. They can just buy(or subpoena) the internet history of someone they are investigating and then use that as evidence. Then they can just get all the customer info for a whole city and just target people who search for wrong terms like 'decomposition rate of bodies', 'effects of LSD', 'terrorism in europe', or 'black crime statistics'.

I just wrote Flake and McCain this message:

I just heard that you and Flake voted yes on S.J. Res. 34.

I find this absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that you would allow the privacy of free citizens to be violated by the ISPs by allowing them to sell our private, personal internet history to third parties.

I hope you know you are a disgustingly evil individual and I hope you choke on a dick and die.

Thanks for your time, Aaaron

P.S. If you need a dick to choke on I'm sure you can find plenty within the whores that make up congress.

I met McCain in 2008 and called him out about how the Patriot Act erodes the 4th Amendment and he just brushed me off saying that it was needed for security. That fuck needs to get throat punched.

I really did! Used the contact form on their websites, sent the same letter to both with the names switched. They probably won't even read it, I'm sure their aides will chuck the message before it gets to them.

Moreover, after a little fear-mongering people will stand up against YOU yelling "Government gives us security!", "Good citizen has nothing to hide!", "Look at how many pedophiles on the Internet!", "You're a tinfoil hat! Look at what great country you live in thanks to government!", "Nobody interested in you, it is against bad guys.", "If you don't like it then the border is open".

I once was told that "this is the technological progress" and if I don't like it then I "can live in the forest".

Yes. Let's all give the federal government more and more regulatory powers. That's bound to end well. Especially when it comes to privacy. Everyone knows the feds care really deeply about everyone's privacy.

It may take you a bit of time and learning, but if you set up a PfSense router and daisy chain a couple VPNs together on it, use a linux PC, then you'd have at least setup a decent amount of work for most nosy low level groups after your online privacy. You could also use Tor in addition, so it would be you>vpn>vpn>tor>website.

Here's some decent VPNs: https://privacytoolsio.github.io/privacytools.io/#vpn

Also, read up and browser/behavioral fingerprinting, it's a real bitch to avoid. Just the way someone types can often be unique.

Why would he? He thinks Net Neutrality is bad, supports NSA data collection, and brought in Ajit Pai to head the FCC, who is a devoted Net Neutrality opponent. By pretty much any measure, something like this seems A-OK for him.

I give him a wide wide berth at the moment. He is under relentless fire and picks his battles ingeniously and well timed. It may take his TrumpTrain grump grump grumping about it and then he can look up and say, hey ... He is going to have to have neo cons in his admin or he wouldn't be in at all. Let him maneuver. In the meantime, thanks so much for the links! I just signed up for a very expensive 6 month contract of site security. Buying myself some time and consulting is how I look at it. I am a slow learner about your tech wizardry work arounds. But 6 months of expensive is yuge so I'm motivated.
