The war on drugs definitely has created hostile regions within Mexico and people have a valid reason to want to flee that environment.
But the best way to fix this problem is not to grant asylum, but to end the bullshit war on drugs that's enabling these criminal enterprises.

Legalizing marijuana is like the best way to help Mexico out and let them build up their economies for once.
