naw - you can figure it out yourself

If you can't come up with any corroborating evidence, then you don't have a defensible position.

Do you demand that everyone provides sources for their opinions when you could easily search for it yourself?

I want to know what specific evidence people with this view find the most pertinent. By your logic, why do any of us communicate online at all if we can just web search the answers for anything online? Why even allow comments here if the best anyone can do is state their perspective in an echo chamber without providing any evidence to support that perspective?

I want to know what the people who hold different positions consider credible evidence so I can understand why they hold the positions they do. Searching for random blogs I know nothing about doesn't tell me anything about what makes someone with a particular position hold that position. What evidence seems credible to them, and what doesn't? What are the concerns of this demographic, and what seems inconsequential?

If I wanted only pointless echo-chamber masturbation I can find that elsewhere, but I'm here on voat because I figure some people probably care enough about their views to be able to articulate them in order to sway people that may be on the fence or who have an incomplete picture of the whole situation. It sounds like that person probably isn't you, but maybe someone else here fits that description.

If you're unwilling or unable to explain your views, how much do they really mean to you? Is this about personal validation, or do you actually care enough about the issue to increase awareness of it outside of your own circle?
