Not news in the strictest fashion, but pretty revealing how the libtards are turning their own people off to their ideology.

It's news to the guy who broke the spell. Just wait until he realizes leftists are the bad guys 90 percent of the time (in the first world).

Yeah but it's still not news. We're supposed to be pretty decent here, so unless it's really important or cool, I don't think we should just start posting that stuff here.

Hell, look at Hollywood - it's entirely run by leftists, yet every villain holds leftist views (they just call them "right wing" due to cognitive dissonance).

Post this to /v/meanwhileonreddit it will do much better there. (I'd also like to comment/upvoat there but as @HowieCameUnglued said this isn't news.) PS imgtc + ceddit will get you even MORE upvoats.

Collectivism, when exposed as the anti-Justice/Anti-Accountability movement that it is, finds few willing to accept its precepts.

This is the fatal flaw for the Left. We are individuals and want to be accepted as such. We are not our labels. We are not cis-this or trans-that, black or white or brown or furry or Democrat or Republican or Laour or Conservative. We are each much more complex than the labels the Left tries to divide us with. And we know that we SHOULD be judged on what we think or do or say, not on the basis of a collective-label.

We want to be judged on the basis of WHO we are, not on the basis of WHAT we are. For Justice operates at the level of the individual, not on the basis of class affiliation.

The Left with its Collectivism has had it wrong and merely needed to be called out on this error for people to then turn away. And people are now turning away in droves.

I just don't understand identity politics. Never in my life have I "identified" as a white, straight, male. It's just not an important factor to me. I'm just a dude with thoughts and ideas and assumed everyone else was the same.

I guess some people just don't have any thoughts or ideas that are worthwhile and so they have to find "identity" in external things.

No, not really. You share this aspiration to be judged as an individual with everyone else on the planet. What you are seeing here with Identity Politics is the introduction of a meme from Cultural Marxism. It is not founded in reality but represents an ideological position, only. Those that subscribe to it are, therefore, instant hypocrites as their essential nature as individuals has not actually changed.

The Identity Movement's purpose is not to create some new reality but to dismantle society and divide each other upon an ever growing list of identity criteria. Thus, this is all about rhetoric and using the meme as a source of leverage, not about actual consciousness or something alien to what you, yourself, feel.

Put another way, Identity Politics is a Con Job. The con-artists know the score here, are not deluded. They just see this as a useful tool to negotiate concessions from society. Our job is to call them out on their bullshit.

Yep, if you just asked me to describe myself in a few words, I would go through hundreds of adjectives before I even thought to mention ones that explicitly refer to my gender, race, or sexuality.

But apparently a certain grouping of those adjectives makes me subhuman or superhuman, depending on their configuration and your biases towards them.

Identity politics is cancerous to society.

Similarly I've never identified as a gay white male. I just be, and the person I'm dating is a guy.

They're not. They've accomplished nothing and did nothing of substance, which is why they try to reduce everyone to labels- it's all they have and brings people that have accomplished things in their lives down to their level of doing and being nothing.

I completely understand where he/she is coming from, because I went through the same thing when identity politics crept through the party a few years ago. I support gay marriage and transgender rights where warranted but everytime I gave them an inch they added another letter on the end of LGBT, and since I didn't support the ideals of a specific fraction of LGBT+2WTFBBQCUSSR, I must be a nazi bigot.

The left just doesn't get it. They pushed the political moderate out of their party and instead of trying to listen and appease to the direction the country was moving toward, they doubled down on the same mistakes that cost them the election.

Don't you feel betrayed? I do. I remember going to rallies for gay marriage rights in college, writing my reps to tell them I want everyone to be treated equally. I remember providing a shoulder to lean on for gay friends when they went through the same trials and tribulations as me. Then, it just seemed like things changed. I know its probably some bias; something that has more to do with my perception than an actual change, but if felt like a sudden change.

I noticed that my liberal friends were starting to say weird things; 'weird' by my standards, I guess. Language of pedo acceptance began creeping in. Transgender education courses for children. Shortly after 'occupy,' the rallies I went to had a lot of anti-white speakers on the bull horn. It was just...weird. I know that these people don't know me, but they do know me--they know of whites like me. People that have never raised a finger against their fellow human and tried to accommodate concepts and lifestyles that may seem odd or disturbing--that's me, or at least, I thought that was my identity. Suddenly, it was like race was the whole focus, and through virtue of being white, I was automatically a racist.

Fast forward a few years. Its the day after my wedding and my wife are in Miami trying to check into our hotel before leaving on a cruise the next day. Its late. Its pride week. A few years ago, I would probably have felt quite comfortable--but again, I felt the change. Suddenly, from the hotel bar (which was inexplicably right next to the receptionist) some drunk faggot begins yelling at me and my wife. "Breeders showed up. Did you bring your kids--you know we're all trying to have fun and you bring your kids?"

Here's the thing: We don't have kids; there were no kids with us. I turn to address the guy when my tired, jet-lagged wife pleads with me through her eyes. 'Please don't' she says. We go to the room, which is within earshot of the bar area. The guy carries on all night ranting about people who aren't like him. That was really it. That was the last straw. I hope that fag reads one of my posts where I share this story--you ended it. You took an ally and said 'no thanks.' I should thank the fag. He taught me that no one will speak up for me, even if I speak up for others. I wanted to believe in a world of multiculturalism, but that is a lie. True peace is in unity, and unity can only, sadly, be found in your own people. Just one of those tricky lessons to fully learn in life and I'm sure that's why so many people are still acting against their own interest.

Fuck this shit. If we need a civil war to remind people why civilization is better; its going to happen.

Yeah Occupy is where I think leftism totally went off the rails. I was on the periphery of some 'anarchist' groups around the time the WTO protests were happening. Holy shit, a trade deal that's horrible for American workers? Sound familiar?

I showed up at some OWS stuff years later and it's like "Wait a second, I thought we were here about banks and crony capitalism, but you seem more interested in pushing Fem/Trans/PoC bullshit and you won't let a white man step up and lead. Oh and no naming the Jew."

I felt the same way but my last straw moment was watching Ben Affleck yell at Sam Harris and call him a racist. From that point forward I knew there was something majorly wrong with the left. I had not really pay that much attention to the fringes for a while but I dug in and realized that it is cancer as hell.

I'm a classical liberal. I'm an atheist. I am a believer in science. I want equality for all people under the sun. But this crazy lack of being able to have an honest conversation about anything is so against what I always thought of as proper egalitarian American values it boggles my mind

A hyperbolic anicdote. If your world view has collapsed to the world is made up of "left/right people, and the left/right are screwing everything up" you haven't really got a grip on what's going on.

In fact by casting the situation as 'the left/right don't get it' it's arguably making it worse.

What's going on transcends left/right. It transcends good/bad guys. The most tragic part of what's happening it's degenerated into just tribal demonizing. I mean look at the majority of the comments.

If we continue down this road it's going to be total mess - for us all.

I'll take comments censored for $100, Alex.

Fucking scumbag mods.

Edit: I contacted the mods and they said:

Why are you inquiring about other users' submissions or comments?

Because I was reading the thread and the comment disappeared. It didn't appear to break any rules.

Unsure. It looks like it was removed by automod after the edit was made. It's possible that it hit the report threshold for autoremoval (aka enough people reported it that automod removed it), but I'm not totally sure since the bot hasn't given a reason. :/

We've approved it for now. I think it just upset a lot of people, who reported it, which in conjunction with the addition of the edit triggered a threshold for automod to remove it.

Agreed. I think they were baiting me to get me upset, which they could use as a pretense to ban me and feel a little thrill of authority from an otherwise rewardless job.

Unfortunately Reddit has recently made changes that hide the usernames of mods, so I can't narrow down which one would try something like that.
