It's good that the report has managed to approach this in such an even handed measure. Equally, I'll be surprised if war crime charges are pursued. My hope, and unreasonable expectation, is that this might drive Israeli leaders to halt the wholesale murder of civilians. However, the rhetoric from Netanyahu makes even that possibility seem unlikely.

Given the aggression displayed by Israel and the completely one-sided nature of these conflicts (In the 2008 conflict, the kill-death ratio for Israel was 100:1, with as many as 70% of the Palestinian casualties being noncombatants) over the past decade, I think that's an understatement.

The continual annexation of Palestinian land, the treatment of the few Palestinians allowed into Israel, the deliberate targeting of civilians during these conflicts, and how frequent these conflicts are becoming all make me think that we're sitting by and watching Israel commit genocide bit by bit.

The Gaza Strip is 139 square miles and has nearly two million people living in it. It's essentially the world's largest open air prison at this point.
