It's global climate destabilization, and you haven't seen anything yet.

FYI, don't buy beach front property, or anything near large water bodies for the next 150 years.

Buy a cabin in the mountains.

It was warmer in Ohio in January than in the Sahara fuckin desert.

Awesome. Beats the month of being colder than Alaska we had last year.

Global 'warming' measures a pretty small overall increase, I think it's like 2 degrees or something. A 2 degree increase of any average day seems like a pretty meaningless difference, right?

But remember that this is the physics description of temperature, which is to say "how much energy is in this system." We can directly convert an amount of temperature to joules of energy, and for a system as large as the planet a 2 degree difference is an absolutely massive amount of energy. Like, amounts of energy that we could define in "number of nuclear bombs" or "months of the entire world's power grid output" so, lots of energy.

Well our planet is a big, complex system - heat energy is constantly getting converted into other forms of energy. Water evaporates and forms clouds, ice melts, winds move, even the ocean's currents are based partially in heat. For this specific example, I'd guess that we've got strange weather patterns bringing in humidity over areas that normally don't get moist air during this season. And as we're starting to discover, a lot of life on Earth is extremely sensitive to these changes in its surroundings.

Why would they be resistant to it, after all? The ocean's pH hasn't changed in millions of years - now suddenly we're acidifying the oceans on a massive level and it's happening so rapidly that we can't expect population levels to stay in balance, much less evolutionary processes to adjust.

TL;DR adding more heat into the system is like adding more voltage to a computer or adding more speed to a carnival ride. It may seem like a small overall increase but the secondary effects are what's causing the damage.

It's like all the narratives the librards were crafting all these years are falling apart one by one.

What would that be, exactly? This is 3280ft above sea level, it's cold there. When water falls from the sky in a cold place it usually comes in the form of snow.

I didn't know common sense was a "librard" narrative.

Off hand I say stuff like this.

2016 was the hottest year on record -- again http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/18/world/2016-hottest-year/index.html

Opps more CNN Fake news.

Why NYT Hid The Numbers For The ‘Hottest Year On Record’ http://thefederalist.com/2017/01/18/nyt-hid-numbers-hottest-year-record/

The part of the equation that you missed is that we are talking about one the warmest parts of the planet, the motherfucking Sahara, a region not particularly renown for its skying stations. In fact the closest ski station might just be in the mountains in Morocco.

No shit cold weather would cause the condensation of water into ice particles.
