Civil Rights movement was by the Republicans not Democrats. Republicans even saved the slaves. Just FYI: you've been lied to, brainwashed.
On June 10, 1964, Democrats filibustered the Civil Rights Act.
The Democratic Party was started when the slave owners broke off from the Democratic-Republican Party (formed by Thomas Jefferson) and formed the Democratic Party. The entire civil war was basically Republicans (the North) vs Democrats (the south).
You seem to thinking that LBJ's 'great society reforms' were a good thing and that you should want its credit to be assigned to the political party you support. This is wrong. While i agree that they wouldn't have passed without support from both parties, we should be able to agree with 20/20 hindsight that they were terrible idea and that multiculturalism was a failure - thus why push the idea that "hey guys republicans wanted this too". I'm sure you are aware of the constant political shifting and history of these parties from Linclon to Nixon, so i'll spare you and just assume you know all of that.

Democrats were pro-slavery.
