This isn't boomer versus X, Y, and Z. This is the result of globalism. America is being brought down by the weaponized forces of economic and social equilibrium. This has been done intentionally. To help speed along the establishment of global government. All nations gradually becoming the same. No nation significantly better off or worse than any other nation. All races living everywhere. A growing mongrel race of super spuds. Welcome to the future. Isn't global Communism wonderful? But wait, the process has only just begun to produce its poisonous fruit, the best is yet to come.

It is globalism.

When wages in the world are a median of something like 9,000 USD (annual) considering all countries, guess what the big old hand of the market is going to do when trading is allowed?

Oh, that's right, its going to FLATTEN THE FUCK out of any divergences from that median. That goes for labor, commodities and other things.

Naturally, this would help people if other markets were reset in the same manner -- so suddenly your apartment costs much less than it normally would -- but that's the problem, you have these low wage incentives crushing people where there isn't an equally strong market force FLATTENING out housing and food costs.

This whole system is careening to fucking debt-implosion anyway, its just fucked up to see how many have to suffer because of it.

This isn't boomer versus X, Y, and Z. This is the result of globalism.

I knew I'd be seeing this as soon as I saw the headline. It's a nice idea, but unfortunately not true. The baby boomers enjoyed enormous income because they spent their working lives in an era when US industry had a virtual monopoly worldwide. US labour had a world's worth of jobs to pick from, because that's where all the industrial equipment was located.

After the rest of the world rebuilt from WW2, that monopoly ended. US labourers now face a choice: Become competitive again, or pretend it's all because of trade and they can make it all better again by closing their borders.

It also doesn't help that gen X and Y have significantly higher expectations of living standards. Huge houses, luxury TV and gaming systems, expansive healthcare, two cars, university for everyone... that shit all costs money.

It also doesnt help that gen xy have come to age in an inflated market. So we start with everything more expensive and are paid less than our previous generations. Cool. Sounds to me like a setup for failure. Fyi. I have to have 2 fucking jobs to make my life work. Fuck me right.

Yes, blame others for your lot in life, that's the ticket to success!

In what fantasy do you believe you are entitled to more than those who came before you just because you were born?

People in the U.S. are among the wealthiest in the world so unless you really want to ride the class warfare train STFU.

http://www.worldwealthcalculator.org/

Hell, single moms on welfare in some states are among the 1% richest in the world.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2012-11-27/when-work-punished-tragedy-americas-welfare-state

Do you have any idea how easy it would be to be the 'cream-of-the-crop' in the millennial generation? (That's rhetorical, It's obvious you don't.)

Yes, and what fucking generation did all of that.

It was the Boomers, this is a generational conflict against them.

Why the fuck do you think we are still doing the 70's over again.

Because the boomers are fucking children that never grew up and never had some one tell them "no, fuck off"

The same is true of gen x. I'm having to learn a new trade because wages in my field have been stagnant for decades. I was self employed until recently and wages have not risen in the 10 years since I was last employed. So yeah, we're all kinda fucked. Most 40-50 year old people have more debt than savings and little job security. I'm working in a fucking pizza shop for $12/hr while I go for my welding ticket and heavy mechanic license.

Boomers wanted free love not free work. Now that they are fully in charge and holding on to power as long as they can they will continue to rob the younger generations to fill their pockets and bank accounts. The generation that was against war, owning property, greed and the establishment has mostly turned into war-hawks, property gluttons, money grubbers and the most entrenched establishment ever. It's time to drain the Boomers from the swamp.

I've had this bookmarked since you posted it. I still refer people to it when they ask for dependable news sources. I hope others will continue to contribute to the effort because we need to show MSM that we won't drink the fool-aid anymore.

In 1989, people didn't spend half their working day on facebook.

They most likely spent it around the water cooler, discussing rumors and bullshit with their co-workers.

That isn't the issue so much. It's more that labor has become less valuable over time.

  • Feminism - more women in the workplace, bigger labor pool
  • Immigration and offshoring - bigger labor pool (particularly on the low pay end)
  • Rise of robots/software - less demand for human labor

All of those things contribute to lower pay for human labor by increasing supply or reducing demand.
