No, you fuckin nutjob, this video highlights that we should prevent children from getting molested, not from seeing "harmful videos".

They want the illusion of a stable society because that is easier to maintain.

Something terrible happens, the answer? Censorship!

Yay.

(More seriously... blegh, how predictable)

I tried watching it. Couldn't stomach it. It's very frustrating that the only concern seems to be with the video and not on what actually happened to this child. Poor kid. Fuck the bastard that damaged her.

I'm curious. Why did you want to watch it?

“This video highlights the urgent need for the law to protect children from unsuitable and harmful content, including violence and self-harm, through removing or blocking content online age verification measures.”

bullshit - that's just yet another call for censorship

this video is extremely sad, but regardless of this tragedy, i think it helps to shine a light on child abuse and the consequences to these kids and i think the impact that it has, entirely because of how graphic it is, may have a potential benefit

from SSRI Stories...

Apparently, she was on medication for depression and has attempted to take her life in the past ...

these god damned SSRI drugs are found in nearly every mass-shooting incident as well as many isolated incidents such as this

And maybe it's the kind of people who are prescribed those drugs are the ones who are more likely to do such things. Maybe it's the other way around from what you think.

I would assert that both you and @xeemee are correct because it's likely a combination of both phenomena.

These drugs give you the little bounce of motivation you needed in order to finish yourself of. As they were designed to do.

Regardless, those drugs will fuck you up. Them as a cure causes the very supposed thing they're to cure.

My cousin was on them. He threw himself off a five story building. RIP bro. Those drugs fuck you up.

Also there is SSRIs connections to suicidal ideation and links to increasing the risks of suicide. Some of these have been given a black box label.

yes, i remember reading about a trial study for a new anti-depressant for kids a long time ago - apparently several kids tried killing themselves during the trial period and apparently a few succeed

supposedly that drug is on the market and i don't recall which is it, but i believe it was a very popular one

I've talked to a researcher about it before. He explained it to me in a way that makes sense but I'm not smart enough to explain it myself. It has something to do with the fact that you are not allowed to participate in a drug study if you are suicidal. Invariably some people in a depressed population become suicidal and when they do it is noted in the study in a way that people who don't understand how drug studies work or who willfully misrepresent how they work hyperbolize and pass laws or regulations to require those labels.

It has to have something to do with the extreme sensitivity in going to a Dr about being molested and then a big let down when you find out that all they can do is give you a drug. If the Dr would just treat her like a woman (most women have been molested more than once) and just say ya it happens to most but that doesnt mean keep letting it happen. No one cared enough to provide a safety net to her before the assault and it stuck with her.

Of coarse the media won't let a sad story of a poor girl who killed herself because of sexual abuse go to waste and spin it into a story on why we need internet censorship.

Found this

Turns out, Katelyn used the Live.me application to live-stream her suicide, and the 42-minute video details her hanging herself from a tree. For those of you who don’t want to watch the video either, you can read the transcript someone typed up:

“The first half of the video is Katelyn positioning the camera, measuring the rope she attaches to a tree and makes adjustments. During this section, the sun is shining and the ambient neighborhood noises of passing cars, birds and barking dogs can be heard in the background.

She then climbs on top of a bucket and fastens the noose around her neck. At 21:24, after taking several deep breaths and crying, Katelyn says an anguished “Goodbye” before stepping off the bucket. Now hanging by her neck, Katelyn’s arms and legs begin to jerk and kick for a short time.

For the remaining 20 minutes of the video, Katelyn’s body sways at the end of the rope as the sun goes down, as dogs bark in the background. After 10 minutes or so, you can hear Katelyn’s family calling for her and coming close to finding her on camera. The video ends as the sun disappears and Katelyn’s cell phone repeatedly rings.”
