He needs a payday after losing 2 years of his life. He deserves at least $100,000 for the hassle (more if he lost employment or a house).

Of course he did - how many jobs are down with you being two years late?

And how many mortgages let you skip 24 payments?

Maybe now he will bring a suit against the PD or county or whatever. I hope he does.

$100k for two years? Min wage [$7.25] x 40 + mandatory OT [$10.87] for the 168 other hours per week should be the minimal he is paid. And it should come out of the police retirement package not front he tax payers. Start holding cops accountable for their actions, like we do doctors, and thing s will begin to change.

Well, technically, the police work for the taxpayers. As such, the police are the responsibility of the taxpayers. And, until the taxpayers feel the pinch, then there won't be a political response. Especially from the over 50 crowd.

Which puts pressure on voters to call their reps to get shit like this to change. Maybe YOU don't notice this in action because you're ignorant to the process, but the rest of us are paying attention to our locale's budget and spending.
