No we don't. These lawyers are not standing up for OUR free speech rights. These lawyers are trying to give corporations the ability to promote investment products and services that may not be in the best interest of their clients and saying the law restricts free speech. They are suggesting that regulations and laws that prevent them from pitching to their customers investments that may benefit the firm to the detriment of the client should be allowed because it is hurting their bottom line. We can't allow this conflict of interest or this "free speech" for corporations since we regulated them in the past because they can't be trusted. The pharmaceutical and food industries have been the biggest violators in the past by making claims and selling things that were false or unsubstantiated in order to imply health benefits or cures when there are none. This is a form of regulation we need because it prevents companies from outright lying to us to make a buck.
