@PuttItOut @Atko - the US media is compromised - v/news janitors are deleting alternative media like wikileaks' twitter account. Please, as the mods of @system, can you instruct @typo to remove rule #4 and let the community police it with votes. @disappointed @cynabuns

SRS would be too busy brigading posts to enforce the rule if their lapdog /u/unruly wasn't tattling every time someone posted twitter/facebook/reddit as a primary source on a Right-leaning news story when no other outlets are "covering" it (i.e. merely linking to the primary source and adding absolutely nothing to the story).

what is this? i thought it had been made crystal clear that the only content janitors are supposed to delete is spam?

do we need to define spam?

Sorry, I am in the habit of calling @system moderators "janitors". In this case it is wannabe reddit-mods @typo and @amyacker.

Why not just link to the site? Saves us all a step anyway.

The shutdown of wikileaks is news in and of itself. And the site itself has a ton of shit. This makes it easier. In any event the v/news mods should not have deleted this submission. Rule 4 has always had the problem of censoring outlets like this when "traditional media" is either shut down or compromised. The rule needs to become a guideline for users to enforce with their votes.

Mod cancer has no place here. I left reddit because of cunts like them.

Oh wow. I never noticed the dreaded "all caps" rules here before. Posts containing acronyms fall under this category, and simple acronyms being all caps have been conveniently used as an excuse to selectively remove valid entries from /r/news, /r/worldnews, /r/politics and the like. Definitely rules here need to be scrapped and reconsidered with site users ultimately deciding.

Hadn't thought of that. Maybe @typo will create a thread to talk about the rules with all of us lowly users?

/v/science part 2? Why isn't this a system sub anyway? Why are there mods? Remove mods now.
