Correct. In other words, the only people that had the right to vote were the people that would be affected by the outcome of that vote. Landowners were expected to report for militia service in times of war, and it was Landowners whom the government services, such as the Courts, serviced, as well as whom the Legislators made policy in interests for. That's what is meant by "Representation with Taxation".
Now if you're going to tell me that men across the country (And women now, due to the thorn in feminism's side known as Equality) are going to be required to be conscripted for little adventures all over the globe, but don't get any right to Representation in Congress over whether or not we go to war, I'm going to tell you to fuck right off, because you'll have become the new "King George". And just eliminating the draft, doesn't solve the problem, because you'll still have hundreds of thousands of troops who have enlisted, and are basically signing their souls over to Congress, with no ability to choose what men they do so to. Once more, taxation without representation.
The same applies to the labor force, by the way. That's why we started out with men being able to vote, because women largely were absent from the labor scene. Those with the right to vote were those with the most interest in actually voting. Everyone else either was a homemaker, or had the choice of roughing it out on the frontier, far from the influence of a potentially corrupt government. Nowadays, that's no longer an option.
If you're going to craft laws that affect me, I'm damn sure going to demand a say in the crafting and maintaining (Or repeal) of those laws, as I'm sure you would...or are you seriously going to tell me that you would allow me to craft laws that affect you, without allowing you any say in them?
Edit: Exactly as I have come to expect from you, Totes. When given an argument you cannot counter, or a question that causes cognitive dissonance, you downvoat and run away, refusing to address your opponent's argument. With an attitude like that, why not go back and join the other Ledditors? You'd certainly be more at home...
