I am not surprised, the amount of mentions this site has in articles and blog posts following the Reddit shitstorm must be a dream for SEO.

There are a lot of sleazebag journalists talking about Voat as a haven for child porn (echoing right-wing calls for censorship in the late 90s), but I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity. As long as Atko can keep us up and running, I predict a steadily-growing community.

One thing I have noticed is that many of the websites shit-talking Voat are owned by Condé Nast, which also owns Reddit. The other ones tend to cater heavily to sjws.

I think what's crazy is how anti-free speech some of the articles are. They claim that Reddit is a business and can censor what it wants, but then in the same article, they will say that leaving Reddit is an over-reaction. Yeah, if a business centered around discussion is going to censor what I say, I'm going to leave. Even if I would not normally say things they would censor, if they have made it clear that they will just censor anything that they do no like, then it's time to leave.

right-wing calls for censorship

It wasn't just the right-wing. Tipper Gore was one of the leaders of the musical censorship movement.

I've seen just heaps of child porn since I got here. What a bunch of idiots. I wonder if they actually heard that somewhere or if it's manufactured out of whole cloth. I'm leaning towards the latter.
