To be fair, I've always been anti-Christian. All religion is bad. Some are just worse than others.

Exactly. Any religion is a collection of like minded individuals trying to impose their will upon others.

Pretty much what it comes down to then is that whatever is decided in a mosque can be treated as non-binding arbitration at best, and can always be overruled by a real court of law.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Sharia laws already be illegal by definition if they would cross with State and/or Federal laws? In light of the ban on polygamy, there already should be a legal precedent for this.

I whole heartedly agree... Islamophobia-phobia has reached a level that's poisoning mainstream media, social media, journalism as a whole. Running parallel to Feminist-phobia and being white. And male. And straight. And pissed off. Fuck this stupid world and the shit people in their mindless droves, truly believe. It is relieving and good to see Texas still don't give a fuck about your feelings. Patterns matter. Facts matter. Open mindedness matters. Do you think Muslims, on average, are as open minded as middle class Westerns? Do you think they even compare in tolerance and understanding of differing ideological standpoints? Of course they don't. You'd be an absolute fool to think otherwise. Liberal fascist, regressive leftist, wannabe intellectual jerk offs, what ever you want to call them need to wake up before they tighten the own noose around the left as a whole. Which used to be cool.

Legal. Precedent. THAT'S IT. All you Sharia-loving idiots need to relax, and go back where Sharia is the law. This is just setting a precedent for legal reasons, so that in future, if there is a case, this can decide it. So stop being offended. I'm sure there's an anti-slavery law or two some of the Antebellum South hated, but they MOVED ON and now no plantations. Welcome to America, leave the Stone-Age at the border please.

Welcome to America, a country of laws. In this country, when you break the law, you will be hunted down, arrested and thrown in jail.

To many of these third-world immigrants, this truly is a foreign concept. In their home countries, their local governments don't give a shit enough to create an actual police force, so they think they can come here and have free reign of the place, completely oblivious to the fact that our communities are relatively nice because our law enforcement will stuff you in a cage if you go around behaving like an outlaw.

If only we had not only a regional body of laws that essentially suppresses extrajudicial systems, but also a national body as well. Damn, I guess we're out of luck.

Eh, Texas isn't exactly great when it comes to separation of church and state. While not as bad as some states, the government embraces Christian principles a little too easily.

You do realizes that no court or judge here in the US is going to apply Sharia law to anyone who doesn't follow it, and that even then the laws of the land take precedence right? The only reason for a court to even look at Sharia law is if they had a dispute between muslims and that Sharia law offered a solution that would appease everyone involved, and even then would only look to it for a solution if US law failed to address the dispute or crime?

A lot of the comments I seem here are written as if they worry about the possibility of waking up and finding that they now live under the jurisdiction of Sharia law all of a sudden, and that simply isn't about to happen.

Referring to these sorts of religious laws is done for a number of faiths when all of the people involved belong to that faith. There have been cases of courts in the US calling upon Telemudic law and others to resolve clashes within the same culture. I'm not a fan of Sharia law personally, but it's not the threat that some states seem to think it is.

Inch by inch.

Keep bringing muslims in, watch as they breed like rabbits with 10 children per couple, and Muslim populations start increasing relative to everyone else. Then you start getting defacto sharia rule for Muslims (who do view it as the supreme law, over that of any nation), sharia patrols that try to police non Muslims, no-go areas, and so on.

Don't make the mistake the UK did. Stamp that shit out at the root.

Utah will never push the separation of church and state too far since they are already a theocracy. The fucking state government regularly meets with Mormon leaders.

Sharia was created by a wife beating illiterate pedophile psychopath and should be considered to be the absolute standard of vile contemptuous shit. How any civilized society came to tolerate such a vile ideology is testament to how open such societies have been to foreign ideas and concepts, however it is time to accept it for what it is, and to revile and cast it out for the garbage it is.

Seriously. I have to remove my sunglasses and my ball cap whenever I go into my own bank. How can somebody possibly be permitted to walk around in public spaces with a full face mask?

Him does an ID card even work in this context?

It's generally accepted in America, that if you are running a cash register and somebody approaches you with a mask on, you should just give them the money, because you're being robbed
