That is the interesting angle. How is this simply not an issue of the justice system? Or rather, how does the university get to run an investigation prior to the police? Common sense would suggest its the opposite matter.

My other thought is what a depressing scene current college campuses must have become. While I'm sure some of this is distorted by coverage, it does feel like society for younger generations has become a quasi-Victorian, sex-less holding cell. There was nothing wrong with what the girl or guy did, up until this apparent adviser got involved and shamed the poor girl into thinking she was either a slut or a victim. Any objective look at the texts clarifies that it was drunk college-kids having fun.

Finally, how awful for these students that their sex lives are now such a vast subject of discussion on the internet.

It's all messed up. Apparently the justice department is the one pushing these secret tribunals

Do you have a source for that? I don't doubt you but before I go around repeating it, I'd like to be able to back it up with more than "well according to this guy on the internet."
