Well at least those named in the suit will get due process. Maybe any school presiding over these kangaroo courts should have to give up that right when suits arise from their misconduct. Another kangaroo court set by the student to press his suit sounds like poetic justice.
Or we could you know actually have this shit handled by the criminal justice system. A student makes a claim of rape the school calls the police and get out,of the fucking way.

I will never understand how this isn't the first action taken by authorities at schools. Conduct code violations and similar things can and should be considered after potential crimes have been reported to the people charged with dealing with them.
this is a double edged sword. for example, in my texas school my roommates and i were busted with weed, but since the school handled it rather than the police, all we got was a very small fine.
in most cases, it's better for the school to handle stuff that happens on campus. the problem is when they handle it embarrassingly poorly.

It mostly has to do with the "safe spaces." It wouldn't be that bad of a problem, however because some rape cases are often too vague, such as these cases there tends to be a lot of bias and pressure towards the schools. Which makes it sad because many students get screwed over because of it.
That is the interesting angle. How is this simply not an issue of the justice system? Or rather, how does the university get to run an investigation prior to the police? Common sense would suggest its the opposite matter.
My other thought is what a depressing scene current college campuses must have become. While I'm sure some of this is distorted by coverage, it does feel like society for younger generations has become a quasi-Victorian, sex-less holding cell. There was nothing wrong with what the girl or guy did, up until this apparent adviser got involved and shamed the poor girl into thinking she was either a slut or a victim. Any objective look at the texts clarifies that it was drunk college-kids having fun.
Finally, how awful for these students that their sex lives are now such a vast subject of discussion on the internet.

I've taken to calling SJWs neo-victorians
It's all messed up. Apparently the justice department is the one pushing these secret tribunals
Edit: not the dept of justice. The office of civil rights at the Department of Ed
