I don't' claim to understand the Chinese culture, or current ruling party... But it just seems bizarre to me that SO MUCH censorship goes on in China. I have a hard time wrapping my head around it and if people there understand it's happening or are unaware.
I also wonder about all the western companies with corporate VPNs into China. Do those workers not then have access to the real Internet and share with others what they see?

Start testing websites here. If the people from Western companies are in China then I believe they are under the same restrictions. Blocked In China I believe they are aware that they do not have access to much of what the world does.
Twitter and FB are blocked and at times google gets blocked.

well said LemonCookie!
The tech that is allowing government censorship in the PRC is just as easy to implement anywhere else on the planet.
