First of all, women have more smegma than men. Second of all, you are not distinguishing between the different types of female circumcision. Third of all, most female circumcision doesn't result in a lifetime of pain and doesn't leave women incapable of having sex without pain. Not that I'm defending cutting up the genitals of little girls but the two practices are done: On the same people By the same people On the same parts of the body For the same reasons With similar effects In similar areas of the world(mostly) And have a whole host of other similarities.

I'm mostly familiar with the African version. Not sure I want it in my Google history, but I suppose I'll have to look into the subtypes now.

What's a good dmarc?

There's no such thing as "the african version" outside of some feminist patriarchal fantasy: Africa has a pretty wide range of genital mutilation. FGM is about is varied as MGM, but the more severe types of both are rare for the simple reason that they're likely to kill you/leave you infertile. It's just darwinism in action.
