Obama's 2009 Health Care Speech

Now, if you're one of the tens of millions of Americans who don't currently have health insurance, the second part of this plan will finally offer you quality, affordable choices. (Applause.) If you lose your job or you change your job, you'll be able to get coverage. If you strike out on your own and start a small business, you'll be able to get coverage. We'll do this by creating a new insurance exchange -- a marketplace where individuals and small businesses will be able to shop for health insurance at competitive prices. Insurance companies will have an incentive to participate in this exchange because it lets them compete for millions of new customers. As one big group, these customers will have greater leverage to bargain with the insurance companies for better prices and quality coverage.

How's that working out for you?

As a healthy individual who never goes to the doctor in Colorado, very poorly. I pay $158 a month and have a $5000 deductible and that is the cheapest plan I could get.....

I don't see how it's legal for the government to force you to give your money to health insurance companies.

Damn, I thought mine was bad. I think I have to hit $3,800 in a year out of pocket in their network (January to December) before they start to pay. If I get seriously injured or sick, I hope it's at the beginning of the year.
