Do you ever see things you mention in conversation that pop up on facebook or google as an auto-fill or advert? Facebook and Google use your phone to create those targeted items and Reddit wants to do the same shit.

I have Facebook scraped clean and its cookies blocked, I have Googles privacy settings maxed out with most of its cookies also blocked. If I see something targeted towards me alarm bells start going off because I take my privacy very seriously.
That said I know exactly what you mean, I said something to that effect in the above comment.

Even something as simple as a friend suggestion on facebook shows that they know when to users with the apps on their phones are in close proximity. Ads for stuff you are researching can be a cute thing to see until you start thinking about what these large companies really do with that information, its not to benefit you as a person, its to bend you over for more money.
