That is the first time I noticed the term "cowboy courts". As someone from the states, I approve this quiloqualism in spite of its negative connotation.

You know a cowboy court when you see it. Country bumpkins with ropes and loose guns convening under the village tree to holler for a piece of extrajudicial justice.

'xcept for the guns. Only outlaws have guns in these parts.
