I read that this form of sex change regret happens in around 67% of sex change cases, and that those MtF who remain women while in regret develop unstable psychological issues as their lives progress...

So they are unhappy as their biological gender which leads to depression, or they change sexes and end up experiencing repeat gender dysphoria.

Seems like there is some underlying issue that 'simply' changing genders cannot negate.

And here i thought wanting to physically disfigure and butcher your body to look like the opposite sex was an obvious sign of mental health issues. But those liberal faggots will have you believe otherwise

On one hand, I actually applaud all this recent b.s. Because, I know most of it is b.s. and I just want the discussion to be solved and to go away. But I already know that these people will develop amnesia and wont actually look at facts, so its hard for me to accept these social experiments. ESPECIALLY when its mandated at a federal level! Seriously? Let a state or two enforce transgender bathroom use freedom and sit back and see wtf happens over the course of ten years. Then let the individual states decide what to do.

Not to mention, that these socially insignificant issues are conveniantly dominating the political dialogue in the current election year. Can't have the people using logic and reason to decide on a president based on stances that actually affect the majority of the population. No, we have have to focus on transgenders, non-religious gay marriage, BLM pandering while ignoring cop on white killing statistics.

Would you consider Homosexuality to be a mental illness too?

Personally I don't see too much of a difference; Not that it matters.

Pragmatically speaking though, a planet full of Homosexuals wouldn't last too long

I've been harping on this exact point in every transgender argument I get in to. A post-op suicide rate of 20x the normal population indicates there are still severe psychological issues. Just like body dysmorphia leads to constant surgeries (that the psychiatric community advises against, while advocating for sex changes somehow) to the point of self-harm (as well as risky behavior, etc.)... like this guy... I don't know why the psychiatric community doesn't see the parallels. Probably because the "science" is heavily influence by social pressure.

The high suicide rate also ignores all of the other factors like criminal behavior as well. Everything is higher/worse for MtF transition.

I wonder if its not because, if not for the risk of child-bearing, women tend to have it easier in society. So men under extreme duress who find themselves unable to cope as men in this world, especially in a world that is ever more intolerant of raucous "manly" behavior, where you can be persecuted just for being a man... I wonder if some men don't transition for the simple fact that they think it might be easier to live as a woman. I think about this because the Olympics recently changed their rules to allow men to compete as women, and I am certain, without a doubt that there will be men who spend their entire lives training for the Olympics, only to miss the qualifying spot by one place, then look to the women's division where they can get gold. Athletes raised and willing to sacrifice anything/everything for the gold will sacrifice anything and everything for the gold.

The new interpretation of title VII of the equalities act (changed to benefit trans people) means title IX now forces university women's sports teams to accept anyone who says they're a woman. Sport will be very different in the future.

Very well said, @inyour..., seriously think you hit on it. I've strongly suspected the same for years, the idea that transitioning from male, often seen as a more difficult life path from the male perspective ... to female, appeals to some because of the reasons you outlined so well. Yet once there, the realization hits that maybe it isn't as easy as they thought. Both sexes have their pluses and minuses, strengths and weaknesses. I also think the field of psychiatry is a shady, social science at best, and pushes a left leaning agenda and has for years, with dubious 'science' to back it up at best. Basically, for fun and profit, I seriously think modern psychology enables much of this rather than treating it as it should be, simply seeing it in the terms of their generally liberal mindset, as somehow normal.

It may indicate horrible post surgery care? Or Pre surgery prep.

Society itself is a fucking disease though and maybe if sexuality weren't used to rape everyone into buying every fucking thing, let alone to grow inequality amongst ourselves while the elitists keep fucking us all harder, people might evolve to realize that it shouldn't form the basis of their existence or they won't be fucking happy. Ask any porn star.

You can't compare post-op suicide rate with general population. You must compare it to pre-op transgender rates. Pre-ops also kill themselves at tragic rates because of their difficulty fitting into society.

Most of the trans people I know were unhappy with themselves before transitioning and it appears to me, they changed who they were to get away from their previous life. Not the best way to cope with shit.

You'd have to have unstable psychological issues to consider doing it in the first place

It was a good strategy. Even if he were convicted, he could get a female inmate instead of a dude that looks like one one the Kardashians' dates.

Not only is your timeline wrong about when Jenner started the whole gender reassignment process, but since when does a celebrity need to go to such extreme lengths to avoid prosecution? Seriously.

This adjusts bothers me. Not because I care about pronoun politics, but from a grammatical standpoint, because it is only supposed to be used for inanimate objects and impersonal animals. You could use they, since it's for a person who's never you don't know or is ambiguous (but that still is either male or female), but a lot of people want to be called they so it doesn't have the effect.

Technically, English is considered by linguists to use "biological sex" as opposed to "grammatical gender", so if you want to be grammatically correct and trigger someone, it's best to call them by their birth real (birth) gender.

Unknown children have historically been "it". "They" has a long history of generic use, while we're at it.

It's become a civil rights issue now instead of a medical/psychological issue. :(

We should start using the gender-neutral "it".

Does "it" have a penis? Then "it" is a man.

[–] CatoSierra 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

It isn't gender neutral, it's inanimate.

He can very clearly flap his lips so he isn't that.

English doesn't have any gender neutral pronouns, but, you can use the masculine pronoun in a neutral way, also English uses biological sex not grammatical gender. So if you want to be grammatically correct, you have to call him he.
