TIL: I've got a societal and cultural bias towards appreciating the world's best athletes.
This is why I'd love to attend an Olympic sporting event but have no interest in watching the Minder Olympics.
Perhaps this bias could be solved if we abandoned the gender segregation between athletic competition: allowed women to participate against men in boxing, for example...

I don't want to watch sports played at the same level as a decent high school boy's Junior Varsity squad.
