Lou Reed was better, because he at least pretended not to be for a lot of years. At least his tempo was up to something a non-junkie could enjoy.

I've loved this since they put it out. Re: Mott the Hoople, really? I'll go look that up. Lou Reed did several versions of this as well that were superb.

I couldn't stand this cowboy junkie version of Sweet Jane. I think Mott the Hoople put out the best version. Even better than Lou Reed himself
