Hey folks,
Very new here, and very interested in developing this community.
Is there any clear goal with this sub?
Is it the wild, wild west? Can we post pictures of cats with magic cards?
Are EDH posts restricted to another sub?
Do we even care at this point given how small the community is?
Anyways, I love magic, and magic related things.
I am not overly sensitive about how "on topic" posts are.
I do not play competitively, but love competitive play.
EDH is mostly my thing, but I do play legacy and modern at my kitchen table.(oh yeah! I love drafting and have a sweet cube!)
If anyone reads this, I'd love to know what format you play, and what decks you run.
I have been seriously considering entering modern.
My friend recently built a decade that runs huge creatures with cycle. He cascades into living end ftw.
I think it's hilarious, and it inspired me to come up with something on my own.
Any thoughts on a low tier, silly Modern deck?
Thanks guys!
It's a beautiful day!

I've been working on a neat idea which might be up your alley. Basically, the deck's end-game will be casting a Jarad's Orders to fetch a Deathmist Raptor into the graveyard and a Den Protector into your hand. The following turn you morph and flip the Protector, getting the raptor onto the field for free and returning the Jarad's Orders to your hand. Rinse and repeat.
That end-game engine doesn't use many slots in your deck, and those cards aren't awful in a vacuum. The end-game only requires that you draw and cast a single Jarad's Orders to get going, so the rest of the deck can be disruption and control elements, along with utility/value creatures. If the mana can be made to work for it, I'd be tempted to find space for a couple copies of Demigod of Revenge as an alternative win-con for Jarad's Orders to find. You put one demigod in the yard and the other in hand. Cast the one from hand, get both for 10 power of hasty, flying goodness.
I haven't got a polished decklist yet, but I'm working on one for an article.
