Worked in movie theaters or theatres for 3 years. Loved, absolutely fucking loved, telling these asshats to shut up, put away the phone, or get the fuck out. loved kicking them out.

Not sure why this theater didn't do this but we usually checked inside the auditorium during the show for quality and for our fun to find these guys.

But next time find someone, usher, manager whoever if the theater is worth a damn they'll take care of it.

I have really bad ADD so even the smallest noise within earshot is enough to make me lose focus on the movie. I had a guy in my theater when I went to watch Mission Impossible who would loudly comment on EVERYTHING happening. Someone shoots at someone: "Aw damn, he lucky she didn't hit his ass!" Someone wrecks a vehicle: "DAMN! I hope dat nigga got good insurance!"

Occasionally the theater would laugh at one of his moronic jokes which of course would only encourage him to keep doing it. I would have said something but I almost got into a fight with someone in Southpaw because they were just non-stop talking and I told them to shush and they were like "I know that motherfucker didn't just tell us to shush!" and I turned around and said "Yeah I did, so shut the fuck up." The guy was like "wait till this movie over bitch..." I'm a big dude, not just fat but I've got some mass to me. When I stood up when the movie was over I turned around, looked over and the dude was hussling out of the theater with his girl.

I hate that I have to risk getting into a fight with someone in order to have a pleasant movie experience. I've started going out of my way to go to nicer or more remote theaters just so I can watch a movie in peace.

Exactly. I've stormed out of movies before. If it's bad enough, I'll catch another damn showing, but Management's gonna know about the shit going down.

Just get up and ask for a refund if they can't control their fucking theater.

Used to work in a big theater for 4 years and while your suggestion of having a security guard present during movies would obviously solve a lot of problems, it's just not realistic. Movie theaters these days barely make a profit, which is why they only employ the minimum of people needed to keep things running. And those people have their hands full all the time, not just between movies. (My boss would have died laughing at the suggestion of employing 14 people, one for each theater, who'd be standing around all day watching movies)

If there are disruptions, you need to go and tell somebody. A good theater will first tell tem to shut up, check up on them after a while, and then kick them out if they continue being loud.

Sure, you missed part of the movie when you went out, but you didn't have the whole thing ruined.

Sounds like a bad theater experience. But hey, at least nobody opened fire or tried to detonate explosives. So you've got that going for you.

Me and my ex went to see the Dark Knight and 3 people talked the entire time. Security and management came. When we left they somehow followed us, and were driving literally next to us swerving into us brandishing weapons. We called the cops and headed to the police station. After that they tred to gtfo out but my lady got behind them and got the plate number. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life.
