Sure, it erases it, but it seems to be a bunch of kids. This also ignores the true essence of the movie. The movie was about three down-on-their-luck mid-20 year old scientists who believed in shit no one else believed, cracking a bunch of sex jokes and acting like kids with new toys when dealing with the problem.

I think it is a way to pass the legacy of Ghostbusters to the new generations, i do hope they include in the movie at least some of the original staff. Unfortunately Egon is dead and the other actors are now 70 year old or so... (i feel so old...)
The girl with the glasses seems to be the nephew of Egon, she and her friends will probably inherit the tools and the mission of the original Ghostbusters. We will see how it turns out... at least it doesn't seem to be trash like Ghostbusters 2016... so far.

Well, the word on the street is that Bill, Dan and Ernie will be in the movie (they are showing in the cast list on IMDB).

I want Bill Murray to appear as a ghost trapped for decades in one of his own ghost traps.

I watched the trailer. There wasn't anything in it that made me want to watch the movie, even for free. It looks like the people behind it are going after more fright and less funny, which is probably a good way to go, in my opinion. It also appears to be more of a kids' movie than the wise-cracking first two Ghostbuster movies. It had more of an ET or Goonies feel to it.

I don't even care if it's successful. I'm just happy the 2016 film was erased. I'm sure this new one will be chock full of SJWism, because movies absolutely cannot be made now without including every color of the nigger and faggot rainbow. It might still make a few bucks if it isn't 90 straight minutes of "grrlpower, amirite?"

Personally i think that i'll give it a chance. First because it is not a remake (it doesn't try to erase/rewrite the past movies and story), second because it doesn't seem to be about political and feminist propaganda. Of course, for now all we saw is the trailer, so it is too early to decide, but so far it doesn't seem bad.

Cautious optimism.
I've seen the trailer. It doesn't look bad... so far.

That's such a bullshit spin. The girl ghost busters never acknowledged the original.
