I remember being momentarily jarred from my reverie during the otherwise amazing "Jurassic Park" when they made a technical error. When Newman's computer surveillance system was being used to find where he went, they were playing back quicktime movies which were supposedly a live feed. I thought, wow this movie with a huge budget has such a technical error?
A lot of movies are just so ridiculous they are hard to get into. I think it's why B-Movies that don't take themselves seriously are so fun, because I know they are just caricature and can let my guard down and be entertained.
I kinda liked "A Quiet Place" but I'm glad I didn't pay for it. First of all,
Second of all, and this is the clincher - apparently the monsters don't use echolocation, they just have good hearing. But when they aren't going after a target they can run full speed through fields and then find doorways?
It didn't show them feeling around or using echolocation except maybe their clicking and stuff. But if you pay attention and consider, there is no way those monsters could navigate like they do. They can't see the people standing right in front of them but they walk around obstacles and don't bump into walls.
Yes I know it's Sci-Fi, but it's just dumb. And apparently they are already making a sequel.

What gets me is that there is no excuse for most of the errors in movies. Remember the second Mummy movie, where there was a blimp in the shape of a boat? The gas bag was way, way, way too small to provide enough lift to get it off the ground. At best it might have been able to lift a single human being, alone. Why make such an elementary, stupid mistake? What reason? Another aerodynamics error that bugs me is when you see the winged horse, Pegasus. The wings are always much too small. We won't even go into the muscle structure on the horse's back that would be required to beat the wings, or the fact that the horse's lungs could not process enough oxygen for it to fly. Plus, no tail for stability!

Yeah... Graduate level physics classes pretty much ruined movies for me. I just can't suspend disbelief.
I'm quiet and polite about it. I also sanity check any math they may do.
It's one of the reasons I don't watch many movies.
