If I remember correctly the first one tested poorly also. Shit's about as accurate as the 2016 election polls.

The leaked test screening is the reason the film even got made. That leaked footage had so much buzz Fox had to make it. The test screening of the film did fairly well if I recall. Deadpool was the first movie I was seriously anticipating in a long, long time. Saw it in the theater, pre-ordered the Blue Ray.

Based on what I know about Deadpool 2, I'm already sure I won't see it in the theater and it's debatable if I'll purchase it. Will have to wait and see what the reviews say.

Really? Not saying you are wrong, just that I distinctly remember the talking heads saying that it was so surprising that it was doing well at the box office because it did not test well...

I don't know anything about the first movie, but looked it up:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.

Is this serious? Geez... What kind of bovine attacked him? Sexually aggressive canines? WTF? His goal is to become "hottest bartender" and "World's greatest lover", and it is Ryan Reynolds, and you loved the film? Why? It sounds god awful.

The people who make up test audiences are largely people who don't work. In LA, a lot of times they're the same people who do audience work (show up and clap for shows that don't have enough fans to have people show up for free).

Basically, they're illiterate crazies who can't hold down jobs. No one should care what they think. It's really bizarre that test audiences have so much power.
