She obviously isn't holding down a job. Let me guess. Mommy and Daddy are funding her year of travel.

It does not mention that she has a job. That said there are plenty of jobs that allow telecommuting and very flexible hours. Even if her parents are funding it how is that a bad thing?

This isn't minimalism, this is being a bum. What's worse is its being a bum for her "eat, pray, love" phase of life. Case in point? "She stored all of her stuff at her parents house". Why give attention to someone like this? I have more respect for the person who busts their ass scrubbing toilets to support their ailing parents. Where are those blogs on the Internet?

I traveled for a few months with three outfits (including the one I was wearing), my computer, some toiletries and whatever chargers I needed. I kept some guitars (three), an amp, and a skateboard in storage at a friends house. THAT WAS ALL I OWNED. Was I not a minimalist by your standard because I had something in storage? How do you know she has a lot in storage?

The quote from the article is "The rest of what she has kept from her brick-and-mortar life is stored at her parents’ home." We do not know if that is a few boxes or a three bedroom house's worth of stuff.

Why give attention to someone like this?

If you do not like it how about you try contributing to this subverse versus be so judgmental and making assumptions with out evidence.

I wish Amtrak had an unlimited pass . The have so many restrictions, I find it confusing. The only decent ones are these.

Apply for a writer's residency, if it becomes available again.

I'll keep this in mind. I appreciate that you contributed to the conversation in a positive manner. That said people can and should contribute however they like.

How or when does she shower? Do these trains have showers? If she is crashing at a friends house every night or two (which I would assume unless the trains have showers) she is not "living on a train" she is mooching off friends.

I do not know if those trains have showers. That said in the U.S. some Amtrak trains have showers.

If she is crashing at a friends house every night or two (which I would assume unless the trains have showers) she is not "living on a train" she is mooching off friends.

That may be the case (mooching off of friends) but it also mentions that she uses Airbnb, which typically provides the opportunity for showers in my experience.
