Agreed. If you think about it, having a beachhead on a site that is acceptable like Reddit is critical.

Many people don’t know this, but when you use HTTPS to hit a website, people watching your traffic can see the domain part (reddit.com) but not the rest of the URL you requested (/r/whatever).

From this perspective it’s ideal to have a presence on a site that is accepted in most workplaces / traffic filters without raising any flags. In comparison, much as I like voat, it sticks out like a sore thumb in traffic analysis. I would never go here from work, for example, or using a work phone.
