Why's that?

Having lived in both system half of life in each, I prefer it since I get more daylight hours per day.

The amount of actual daylight hours do not increase or decrease (that can only be controlled by the seasons changing) - just controlling when we get to call 6am 5am instead, and vice versa. Morning people will get more sun, evening people will get shit. I see it as a sort of assertion of power over the populace, but then I am not a fan of big brother telling me anything.

Just my opinion. I find it really cool that you have experienced both worlds of DST, I haven't. Do you mind if I asked what country?

US then Japan and back to the US.

I missed it Japan because during winter it was dark when I came home. Totally makes you feel that work longer.

I'm not a morning person and prefer havonglre daylight at night.

Obviously, daylight savings time is to increase productivity and to save on electricity which it does.

As for health issues. Yeah, I can see that happening if you wake up and are already an hour late to work.
