I've heard the opposite. Lifting before puberty will reduce growth.

Yeah, source? I lifted extensively in my youth, I still hold records. My brothers are both over 6'5 I'm 5'8 neither one of them was any where near as strong as me. They had a different mother. You cannot increase height through lifting.

It seems plausible that you reached your genetic limits, especially considering you only share about half of the same genetic material.
