  • Please post any links or thoughts about SJWs, etc. taking over subs to clamp down on content.

This subverse was started because the subreddit of the same name on that other site had its posting locked and moderator(s) all shadowbanned. I am using Voat.co because redditors, including myself, are familiar with the format.

This is a good place to discuss the topic of encroaching organized activity on reddit to closely editorially restrict the content posted on major subs. These restrictions are being made without respect for the userbase's interest in open discussion.

The goal of this subreddit is to bring sunlight to this activity so subreddit users can be informed about possible spin to content they are seeing on popular reddit subs, and make informed decisions about if they want to go to an alternative subreddit or subverse or not.

Rules

  • DO NOT USE YOUR REDDIT USERNAME HERE. Use a different one. Otherwise people on reddit will possibly ban you from subreddits like /r/news thanks.

  • Do not link to reddit directly here. Enter the post or comment URL in http://archive.is to eliminate cross site traffic.

The comment that led to this subreddit's creation - I, Russia, am NOT the person who posted this. The only OC I've made is the /r/OneY post here.

I read your big reddit post and was super excited by it, also on voat you can find:

redditinaction - Like Tumbrinaction where ridiculous posts that are upvoted on reddit are posted.

MeanwhileOnReddit - Similar but at a mod / admin level, almost a chronicle of what is becoming the downfall of reddit.

If you were shadowbanned on that site for ridiculous reasons and happened to take screenshots of your conversation with an admin, please feel free to share them in the comments here if you've blacked out your personal info (or PM me if you'd like me to black out your username in the image for you). If you'd also like to share a comment regarding how you feel the shadowban was unfair, or voice any other opinion regarding that site, if you manage to keep it under ~100 characters, I may also be able to use it.

Here's my plan: I want to share with the world on Twitter what's really going on between so-called brigading users and the admins. I'm not with any company or news outlet, and I don't have a ton of followers, but this is my way of protesting what has been going on with Reddit the past few months, and I would also like to give the users like yourself a chance to have your voice heard.

I know you're not allowed to post it in the comments here, but if you'd like, you can PM me and I'll share my Twitter handle if you want to share my tweets, or start your own campaign. Also, feel free to share with me your handle privately as well, and I'll follow & retweet your reddit-related content.

I DID NOT WRITE THE BELOW. Credit goes to /u/metaredditcancer of reddit.

One of the earliest and worst observed cases of metareddit cancer: The implosion of /r/LGBT in 2012.

Here is the full recap of exactly what happened when an infamous transsexual internet troll and her trans friend took control of reddit's largest LGBT community back in 2012.

This one user's history on reddit is mind blowing in how much of a malicious presence that they once were on this site and they also happened to do even more horrible real world damage outside of reddit. Their actions were so bad that you could have read about them on internet news outlets and their behavior actually led to hacker groups being imprisoned in developments that were covered by numerous media outlets. This is the type of person who was once in control of large subreddits on this website. Their friends are still in control and they still have influence by proxy even after deleting their account last year.

The moderators of SubredditDrama deemed this event to not be dramatic enough for their subreddit and so they deleted the entire post about it. It was a BS way for them to keep everyone from bringing back up what Laurelai had done in the past and how some of the SubredditDrama mods and their friends were friendly with Laurelai. They didn't want anyone to question their relationship with Laurelai or their past and current dealings with them.

This is the type of "meta cancer" that I talked about in my AskReddit comment. The moderators of SubredditDrama removed the thread about Laurelai deleting their account because they are all friendly with each other and so most of reddit never even knew that Laurelai left the site. That is the incestuous nature of those in control at its very best or very worst depending on the view you take of what happened.

Archived OneY:Mod TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK (TiTrC) goes full-on SJW over time, brings on obsessed feminist Jess Than Three as mod, and then de facto bans any references to feminism. (MetaRedditCancer)

submitted 3.6 years ago by Russia to MetaRedditCancer (+13|-0)

This post is OC by me, (Russia is not my reddit username though) and explains how /r/OneY came to be under close editorial control by "Social Justice Warriors." In other words, this post presents evidence that /r/OneY has contracted MetaRedditCancer

TiTrC has been the top-most active mod in OneY for around a year. TiTrC was also once, if not a more moderate feminist who still gave more than lip service to valuing mens issues, at the least trying harder to maintain an image of being moderate. That all changed within the last few months.

  1. He brought on Radical feminist woman Jess_Than_Three as the third out of the three relatively active mods on OneY.

  2. He, CosmicKeys and relatively inactive mod RobotShoelaces explicitly ban any posts that make reference to feminism in one Y. After a wave of backlash, he changes this explicit ban to a de facto ban, automatically triggering 'review' of these posts and suggesting that if mods aren't given editorial control over the posts they will be deleted.

  3. Oh, also immediately after that post they began banning people who were critical of the new content restrictions. Surprise, right?

Just looking at TiTRC's recent history, you can see how deep down the rabbit hole he's gotten. 9/10 posts are about how feminism is great and men need to get on board with it, some highlights of his recent contributions to OneY:

  • Promoting the 'Good Men' project that suggests that any man that wouldn't feel comfortable self-flagellating to Jessica Valenti columns is a bad man.
  • Another article suggesting modern men are characteristically horrible fucked up monsters: 'Gentlemen, what the Hell has Become of Us'
  • One of many 'masculinity is obsolete and its probably good for it to go' articles
  • An article whose content is basically "I know there's a history of White women falsely accusing black men of rape, as well as women trying to extort athletes for money, but we should still assume that any black athlete who has a rape accusation against him is guilty on a probability basis" seriously what the fuck.

To be perfectly fair, TiTrC still has, now and then, the ability to have a different opinion than the most extremist and reviled feminist viewpoints

But his ideologue position really shine through when you see a post like this, where he repeatedly pimps himself as being able to 'step back from culture warrior feminism and see the bigger picture' to give himself more credibility, then spends dozen of consecutive comments defending feminism's petty culture warrior fights, moving goalposts for feminism, and handwaving away problems with feminism the movement.

It's the context of things like that, it's hard not to wonder if those rare moments of asserting any room for discussion or plurality at all are just about keeping up the supposed credibility. Just yesterday right before starting a debate in this subreddit, TiTrC posted a first self post in a long time that wasn't just a parroting of feminist newspeak.

Does it make that post somehow less good if he was doing it to shore up his credibility? No. His motives for writing it don't matter at all. But it's still an ounce of moderation in tone compared to his comment and post history which, with only a couple exceptions, has been all about highlighting the worst of male redditors, MRAs, and Gamer-Gaters (Videogamers fighting against a similar cancer but specific to a subset of professionals in their industry).

Sure he has a few pet issues (e.g. feminist cultural strictures on dating) where he splits from the ideology, and then regularly pushes that to disguise himself as dispassionate non-ideologue and a good listener. But he's not dispassionate. Like most of his comments which aren't mod-related are on some gender war stuff dicking around whatever side of the issue the men are on.

Let's take a moment to consider how fucked up it is that while, reasonably, the mods of TwoX are women and discussion of feminism is allowed as a regular conversation topic; OneY is controlled by three or four active mods, at least two of which are obsessed with promoting feminism and attacking the mens rights movement, and have seen fit to advance that by limiting as much as possible mens ability to even /talk/ about feminism or the mens rights movement.

In summary: this is why I'm adding OneY to the sidebar.

Full Title: What happens when you oppose SRS and reddit meta cancer? They doxx and harass you until you go away and leave reddit. This is what happened to this mod who opposed SRS and to other mods who modded subreddits opposed to SRS and meta cancer.

The original post about this is from 2012 when this cabal was making their go at taking control of reddit and getting anyone opposed out of the way. That post is below. Here is a link to the post from /r/Subredditdrama with a lot of discussion about this moderator's doxxing at the hands of this cabal of users.

Shadowsaint's post here indicates that he has been doxxed specifically for being a moderator of antiSRS.

This is the fourth antiSRS / SRSSucks moderator to get doxxed after the reddit v. Gawker conflict has started. The list now includes ddxxdd, brucemo, me (MittRomneysCampaign), and shadowsaint.

Shadowsaint has taken this screenshot of his email for confirmation.

According to him, the doxxers have threatened the following:

  • to send defamatory letters to his significant other

  • to send defamatory letters to his business sponsor(s)

He has added:

> It is just awesome that this is the weekend I have my 5 year old son and people are calling my cell to inform me that I should die because I am some "cis shitlord"/"rapist"/"pedo-apologist".

Currently, the source of these messages remains unknown. It is unknown whether the source is tied to the SRSsucks doxxings or whether this is independent. However, shadowsaint claims to have recordings of the caller's voice who is, by his account, "males that sound like they would be talking about my mother on xbox."

Archived Is it Just the Power of Control? (MetaRedditCancer)

submitted 3.6 years ago by MrZucchini to MetaRedditCancer (+6|-0)

TL;DR: Why do mods that maybe start off not too bad sometimes, sometimes go completely and utterly crazy, threatening with doxxing and death, just a few weeks/months after becoming a reddit mod, in threads such as the Great /r/lgbt Implosion Event of 2012 (TM)??

Ranty Detail: After ghosting reddit and the issues it has had for some time, which IMHO starting small about 2 to 3 years ago in various ambitious subreddits, I've decided to pose a little discussion/answer thread about, well, the title. For the new here, you can get more info of the wider problem on this subverse. Basically the problem endlessly grew and basically if you imagine the spark = the ambitious threads I was talking about, the house made of straw = reddit, and the person who knows absolutely...nothing... about fire = the mods; the problem has acted just like what that system entails: a small spark = a small fire = mods start blowing on it = gets a little worse = mods try to blow-out fire more = gets A LOT worse = mods start to move the straw around to do "something" = REALLY makes it worse. Then we imagine now as the fire covering a whole room, /r/LGBT being one of if not the best example of one of those rooms.

What I would want from this thread is to hear from the more reddit-verbose here, mainly about what you think drives these people to go (maybe from only slightly flawed by there power-lust) to complete and utter madman/woman driven red-eyed with power (as evident by half the subreddits started these days -.-). After witnessing (not as much as most users here) the epic implosion of numerous threads began to help people, and the vile crud that came out of the reddit mods documented in great detail here and on reddit itself.

I like to think I know quite a bit about power and the phycology of it, but subreddits like lgtbt, and LOTS of others has just seemed to have breeded the most vile mod actions I've ever seen. I mean deleting everything [footnote 1] from everyone who disagrees with them, can't they see those actions mirror the mindsets and ideologies of the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Etc., that OH SO ironically represents what they think is the complete antithesis of theirs?

[footnote 1] ...and doxxing... and even threatening with death. There is empirical evidence for this here on voat.co and on reddit, from archives and imgurs of admin PM's to the literal thousands they've banned.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing some interesting stuff!
