Yeah i was definitely hooked on them a few years back. Keen to get the tshirt of that album. In any case, i kinda don't care for the BIG FOUR thrash bands and find em a bit overrated. I prefer bands like Razor, Overkill, Flotsam & Jetsam, Sentinel Beast, Sacrifice, et al. I'm sure there are a lot of other fans out there. Bands like this are fairly well known thanks to the internet, the last 10 years.

Razor and Sacrifice... Two more awesome Canadian bands. Sacrifice was also pretty Slayer-esque.

And yeah, the big four probably are overrated to a certain extent. There are certainly better thrash bands out there. I don't mind the big four though, and I like most of those bands' earlier stuff. I mean, how could you not like Slayer's first five albums? I also really liked Undisputed Attitude, just because I also really like punk/hardcore, and that was just an awesome blending of a few of my favourite musical genres. And you can't deny that Metallica was pretty good in their early years, and that Master of Puppets is a pretty good album. And if you can admit that Metallica was pretty good, you have to admit that Megadeth was also good, as, IMO, they were a better band than Metallica, in terms of songwriting at least, if not musicianship as well. And then there is Anthrax, who have always been hit and miss with me, and are probably my least favourite out of the big four. I never cared for their power metal tinged vocals much, but they were a pretty good band, and could thrash pretty good when they wanted to.

TL;DR:

I like most of the big four's earlier stuff, and I don't think anyone can deny that those bands used to kick some ass (especially Slayer).
