I'm having trouble finding who made this poster. The only link I've found with information is in which they state "Media Credits: Propaganda poster, from 1935, by the Manchukuo State Council of Emperor Kang-de Puyi." So I'm assuming Manchukuo created this, rather than Japan.

Although Manchukuo was a Japanese puppet state so I guess it doesn't really matter which created it, it was pro-Japanese colonization in the end.

The flags in the picture are Manchukuo, Japan, and Republic of China from left to right. The 5 colors on the M and RoC flags represent the "five races under one nation" idea, in which the five races of china unite under one flag.

This poster was created to support the idea of a Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, an imperial concept by the Empire of Japan from 1930 to the end of WW2. It promoted the economic and cultural unity of a bunch of asian countries (aka the everything Japan conquered) and declared the intention to create a self-sufficient "bloc of Asian nations led by the Japanese and free of Western powers".

Basically, "being a Japanese colony would be better than being a Western colony!".

In reality, it might've been more brutal.
