I went a little crazy lately when looking for a place to purchase emanga copies of The Legend of Zelda series and InuYasha and never was able to find any (there may be some out there but I was unable to find them, I am relatively new to manga though). After those disappointments I started looking into downloading scans of them and all of the ones I was able to find were poor, for Zelda, and just ok for InuYasha.
I got a bug up my butt and started looking into scanning them myself (I prefer to keep my manga with me on my Surface Pro 3 so I can read whatever I want, whenever I want) and ended up buying all of the Zelda manga, the first VizBig collection of InuYasha, a good Canon scanner that can do up to 1200 DPI scans, and a good iron to de-bind my manga. Hopefully I will have the time to de-bind InuYasha in the next couple of days and start scanning, I am going to use it as a test so I won't ruin TLoZ manga for nothing.
Any pointers or any links giving me hints on scanning the manga (I already know about putting a black sheet of paper behind the manga to keep from having page bleeding) or what the best settings and/or programs for scanning would be great!
I also wanted to find a great place to share my scans and find other peoples scans of manga that hasn't been officially released in English (like Psycho Pass, I really want to read it damnit and learning Japanese isn't something I can do currently) but that has been fan translated.
I have also spent a shitload of money recently buying the emanga of FullMetal Alchemist, Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Blue Exorcist, Claymore, Rosario+Vampire, and others and have edited them so they show as single pages, unless it is double page artwork and then I leave that. I would love to share them but from my understanding it is against the community rules so somewhere where I could share them would be great!
Lastly, I am sorry for my terrible post formatting. I suck at it and always have...
