It's odd how they're similar in shape on both globes, despite obviously being different (versions?) of the same globe.
On the Mad Men globe, the Australian north coastline is depicted via the green portion. It also appears to show that Tasmania is connected to the mainland. Perhaps these discrepancies come from some form of retarded map/globe making copyright.
The Mad Men globe also appears to show other land masses to be connected when in fact they aren't. It's possible that this globe is an interpretation of what land masses looked like a long time ago when sea levels were lower.
Pre-commenting edit: Actually, it appears that the Mad Men globe might be a topographic globe. Check out this topographic world map. It shows a 'high point' off the west coast of Australia, which might be interpreted as it once being above sea-level if you subscribe to the aforementioned theory that the globe used in this scene is an interpretation of how our world once looked.
The Dazed and Confused globe (when you watch the clip) doesn't appear to have a key located elsewhere on the globe, so the chances of it being a guide/key to interpreting the globe are pretty high. It could also be a logo of the globe manufacturer.

I guess it's possible, though the landmass in question appears to be the same color as actual land, I've never seen a topographic globe render underwater features in the same color as land. In that map you linked, they are very dissimilar visually.
The logo theory is possible, except despite exhaustive searches, nobody has been able to produce a picture of a globe with a logo in that position which is similar in appearance to land. If this globe exists in our timeline, somebody should be able to find it.

Most logos are in the indian ocean, i just checked my globe and it has the logo close to that location as well.

The topographic theory I had combined both topographic aspects and that of an interpretation of what our globe once looked like. Hence the land masses connected along the north coast of Australia and the high point to the West bring shown as above water, when sea level was lower. It appears to be in the same location as the high point on that topo map. The similarity in shape on both globes is very interesting though.
