I've been on low-carb before, and it seems as I've gotten older, Keto or something similar should be the lifestyle for me. I was feeling like shit all the time, annoying subcutaneous belly fat that won't completely go away, etc.
I cut out beer and limited processed carbs to two servings/day. However, looking into it, the fruit I've been eating has been either apple, banana or oranges - all higher glycemic index (compared to berries).
I want to do this, but not accidentally waste a ton of money on food that will go bad.
My plan is 1550 cal/day, 70% fat, 20-25% protein, 5-10% carbs. I'll look around this sub and v/ketorecipes, but I didn't know if there was any advice for dealing with relatives who want to have a get-together but won't do keto (should I just eat beforehand? I mean, it's always carb-heavy food, bread, corn and potatoes in the same meal). Or what to expect - I had no side-effects the last time I went low-carb (20g net carbs/day, lived this way for years and for some reason slipped back into standard american diet). Thanks!
