I had a game where I grabbed some of BTSM's heavy batteries as stand-ins for cold gas ACS in a game where I jacked up the difficulty via honour system. I hadn't "invented" liquid propulsion. On one OCTO-based low orbit probe, I had mistakenly place 1x battery when I thought I had 2x symmetry and lifted off. Unbalance = catastrophic. Lots of spinning to keep the all-SRM craft under control, if you can call it that. All primary objectives met, much to my surprise.

I may or may not have taken off from the Mun using a crater wall as a launch ramp and as a fall-away runway.

This may or may not have been consecutive missions. The second mission may or may not have been a rescue mission for the first.

I ahve tried that one many times but never pulled it off, I'm impressed.

It's much easier if you're pointed downslope because you spend so much less time accelerating along the ground.

Symmetrical 4 engine design became an unsymmetrical 3 engine design. I ended up limited the 3rd engine to 10% power, and using a lot of SAS.

I forgot solar panels/battery abd hud to leave an engine running on duna to keep power, didn't have enough gas for a high stable orbit so recapturing was heckuva challenge

My favorite thing to do with TAC-LS and not having solar panels yet was to strap down as many batteries as I could fit, then turn them all off.

As electric charge ran out and I neared the end of my 2 hour (?) time limit for not having electricity, I'd turn on a battery.

Real fuels is a really lovely addition here, hydrazine fuel cells are the best, can shove like 50k electric into the mk1 pod.

Holy shit this is a subverse! Subscribed.

I had a pod with a lot of science inside, and while trying to re-enter the atmosphere of Kerbin I ran out of fuel in a really uneven orbit: Periapsis was 45,000 and Apoapsis was 500,000. All I could do was let the atmosphere slow me down with each pass.

It worked, but I decided I'd try to keep the fuel tanks so I could get more money. The craft was going really fucking fast and it immediately incinerated everything. If I had detached the tanks it would have been fine thanks to the heat shield.

On another mission I was supposed to put a satellite into orbit on around the Mun (still working on it...) and the satellite kept detaching at a stage I didn't want it to. I thought it was a game malfunction but it was really the sequence I got wrong. It took me two tries on that mission before I figured it out. I was so pissed.

Also this.

Seems like every mission is a fuck up.

I left Eeloo at the completely wrong time. Like, when I was projected to intersect Kerbin's orbit, it would have been 180 degrees away.

Luckily I was carrying extra fuel and cut through past Eve to make a new intercept. Good thing heating didn't exist then because I hit Kerbin's atmosphere at something like 6km/s.

I want to see if a stock heat shield would actually work at that speed now...

I recently launched a probe that was supposed to use an ion engine with xenon instead of argon that the engine required. I ended up with enough liquid fuel and oxidizer in my final boosting stage that I just boosted the probe until that ran out and flew by my target anyway, albeit in a now uncontrolled manner.
