Hrm, so if I'm reading this right, LV-N wins out for Mun/Minimus missions when the payload is 15 tons? Do you have a ten ton version of the chart? (Also this is for 1.0.x engine masses/thrusts right?)

Yes.

If you want to land on the mun you'll probably want 2 LV-N's, which changes things a bit.

I actually find the best way to deal with TWR landings/takeoffs on vacuum bodies is to have a couple hundred dv or so of chemical in place for the suicide burn. 360 kN of those big radial engines is pretty light. I've done 100+ ton (including fuel) landing/takeoffs this way.

This way makes sense to me. You pick the delta-v on the x axis and then read how much the rocket would weigh on the y axis.
