Hi Xanthia. Thanks. I appreciate the initial 5 years I was on Reddit and I don't mean to bash it completely. The last 5 have been a bit dull and harder and harder to find quality discussion or authentically interesting links, debate, and ideas. In the last 3 months lurking voat I have been impressed in the sheer flexibility of opinion and range of thought being shareD. I'm far more interested in variety of thought than in everyone agreeing and approaching a common, mass-accepted line of thought.

Also just the lack of censorship even with some very challenging or minority/fringe views is exciting-- some of the best views out there are currently most likely minority, fringe, or just widely criticized, just like the best views of the modern day at one point were criticized and massively denied. How are we going to discover the new ones if we are not open or squelch discussion ??

Sorry to hear it. I'm Christian, but you have the right to believe what you want, and therefore to talk about it.

Thanks. Totally agree. I don't line up with all Christian views personally but I thoroughly enjoy discussing with Christians and learning from them. definitely have gained profound lessons from the examples of close Christian friends and family members.

Welcome to Voat fellow reddfugee.

We have /v/religion /v/buddhism and /v/koans over here to name a few. The main contributor of /v/koans was very active at /r/koans before leaving due to the apaocalypse.

Nice! That's great news :) perhaps a more inclusive and open version can appear here. Granted r/Buddhism there is so huge but perhaps quality over quantity is not a bad thing.

Welcome John, I hope you become a regular contributor to add to the discussion. Check out the lightbulb top right, I love it.

In the mean time check out the link below explaining the points system and have an upvoat to begin with. Here's a hint, to get more CCP points (the important ones), spend some time welcoming people in here. Get to 100 and you get the magic key to more up and down voats. You can also block subverses or members you don't want to follow or see
