Voat is very much community driven. We have modlogs for every subverse (here, it would be , , and , although you could swap "introductions" for any subverse and it would still work), the admins actively remove people who try to be powermods, and subverses like /v/protectvoat exist to make sure that arguments between users and mods are resolved as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Add on "rules that are clearly defined", "only spam comments get deleted, while any rule-breaking posts get an explanation and can usually be resubmitted with a few minor fixes", and "you can block any subverse you don't want to see", and it is definitely far better than Reddit here.
