What style of Beer are you trying to brew?

I've made a few good beers, right from the start! My first was Caribou Slobber, from a Northern Brewer's Kit my wife got for my birthday last year. It's a brown beer, and was a very good start!

I then brewed another brown beer of my own creation. All About Town Brown. It was pretty good too, but was less mellow than I like in a brown, with a bit of porter sharpness to it.

I've brewed a few batches of Witbier, WitKen being the one that friends and family ask for most. It's gone through beta, version 1.0 and is now at 2.0.

But, my favorite type now is Saison. The yeasts used in these beers produce the most wonderful flavors, and this makes people think that you added some fruit or something special to the beer. Nope! The yeast does all the work. Underhill Saison is my imagining what Hobbits would brew.

I could "talk" beer all day! Thanks for the question!

Welcome to the new hotness of Voat! Out of curiosity, have you also tried making an old-school sling? Those can be just as much fun as using an atlatl, even if you only do target practice with them.

I have a little experience with with slings, from when I was a kid. We first tried using our belts, surprisingly this worked if you had the right shaped rock (prism shaped). I tried making one out of leather straps, braiding them together. It worked well enough, but I think I could do better now.

Practice created many knots on my head, and other various bruises. I just recently realized that one could use less dangerous objects than ball bearings and rocks to practice throw, like rubber balls. Might make practice less painful. So, it's back on my list of skills to work on.

Thanks for the question!

Do they make kilts with built-in underwear like they do with swim trunks and some athletic shorts?

Not that I've seen. They do make kilts that have a snap between the folds that turns them into something more like shorts. The idea behind this was for construction guys, since no one wants to climb up a ladder behind them.

I've never bothered with that snap. I don't climb ladders that much. If I did and worried about my junk showing, I'd just put on underwear.

Come to think of it, I've seen some athletic skirts for women that have built in shorts, just not for men. Then again, not a lot of kilt choices out there!

Thanks for the question!

My soon-to-be mother-in-law says you should be able to list your top 3 passions without hesitation if someone were to ask you, and I agree with her. Keeps you on track in life.

I'm pretty sure I'd find it difficult to keep it to just three!

That's a great concept. I've never heard it before.
