Well Put. This is what I usually end up telling people when they ask.

Freedom of speech is not conditional. You are welcome to say anything you would like, anywhere you would like. However, You are also welcome to the possible repercussions of that speech.

Depending on where you live/work you may be fired or shunned by the community for this speech.. That is the risk you take.

I think this is where all of the safe-space bullshit came from. You do not have the right to not be offended. You also do not have the right to stop someone else's speech with your fist.

That is not freedom of speech. That is Fascism.

I've read this screed a thousand times, and I don't agree with it. We should be encouraged to speak our minds freely, and we should never, under any circumstances, lose our jobs for it. The only consequences for freedom of speech should be the verbal disagreement of others -- which is their freedom of speech. It's outrageous that anyone should be fired from their job for saying they voted for Trump, but that has happened countless times.
