A mass exodus is in order.

A migration, no doubt. But it's gotta be big. I know reddit is only big because of a prior mass migration, and it can happen again.

I think you and I have very different definitions of "mass"

Most of them don't give a crap

I just got here, /r/conspiracy leaked to /r/news and leaked again to /r/worldnews which then leaked to /r/redditisevil and I saw it.

I've been here a grand total of one hour and I'm digging it. I can see this happening and long as people are active.

To be honest, since joining Voat 3 months ago there has been a very good uptick in traffic/posts here, to me that means more valuable users.

I'm just waiting on a voat app and a RES equivalent.

I never used RES because of privacy rape. Did you ever look at what it does? It's a tracking monster.

Yeah, apps would certainly help. I'm still newish here, am I right in thinking that the API is still something in progress?

An RES equivalent would be nice, but what would be nicer is if the majority of that functionality could be built-in to Voat. Though currently, with the performance issues I seem to be having with the site (I don't know if tonight is an anomaly or not), offloading as much as possible to the browser is perhaps a good idea.

Haha, "Chairman Pao." That's the best one I've heard!

Anyway, welcome to Voat. I moved from Reddit for similar reasons, and I also still use Reddit, but mostly now for the smaller, special-interest subs (like /r/homebrewing) until the equivalent communities here gain users.

I wish I could take credit for that, I really do, but that'd be a massive lie. "Chairman Pao" has been the running name for her for weeks if not longer on KiA, TiA, GamerGate, etc.

Won't it be interesting when all that's left is admins and mods hitting that stupid fucking button and being the ultimate circlejerk... wrapped up in a weird little bow with one antennae bobbling off of it.

You can't comment openly here either.

If someone downvotes your comments 50 times your account gets locked out.

They just have to go through your comments and downvote 50 of them to silence you lol..

One argument and you're done here.

It seems like there's some conflict or politics I'm unaware of involved here. But . . .

If someone downvotes your comments 50 times your account gets locked out.

If that's indeed true, that seems scarily open to abuse.

It is true and i've already been the victim of it...2 times today. Every comment I make gets downvoted and when you get to -50 you can't comment anymore.

I've had to make new accounts twice today.

Oh yes, An alpha test to see how said feature works in practice is a defining feature.

Did you even read the announcement or are you just talking out of your ass ?

Reddit has kinda become like the girlfriend you've been with for too long and just resents you now and doesn't laugh at any of your jokes anymore... I miss the old "us" Reddit but I'm ready to move on!

I feel for you. I was a redditor for about the same length of time. There are great communities. In the current environment they will soon be ruined anyhow. It's like, "Reddit climate change" and they still want to tax the middle class to change it but it doesn't have anything to do with us.
