Don't take into account pissed off Indians trying to burn shit down and try to halt the Euro invaders from pushing them into the minority.
Hey, sounds like what Islam is trying to do today.

This looks like the rate I get my packages I order online.

While air travel is prevalent, I wonder when the next milestone to traveling will happen?

I think the next big travel milestone for us will be autonomous vehicles at scale, but that will likely show more of an effect at shorter travel distances.

The only way you're going to see a big jump in long distance travel times is for supersonic air travel to get much more popular, or transporters.

2 days from North Dakota to Mexico. I'm not sure I could do that in my car.

Railroads keep running when you would need to stop for sleep.

So do cars. No guarantee you arrive at your destination unharmed, though.

The content is not that great. There are still plenty of places that would require a day long hike at both ends, yet the theory behind the map makes it look like a jet would connect them in two hours.

Between that and the lack of medical knowledge life in the 1800's sucked balls.

In the 1857 map why is there a 2 Week line in Texas that is connected together at the ends? I don't understand how to read this.

It means if you're going in that area it'll take two weeks.

There might be roads and rail lines around it but non inside due to harsh terrain.
