Not as often as you think. IRC it's like 3-400 years and at the moment the Japanese craftsmen that do this are very few. I remember hearing that no nails are used.

Repairs are normally massive reconstructions because you can't just replace randomly. But yes, they are easy to do and to get almost exactly the same that was replaced.
