So, here's a thought. Right now it looks like reddit, so people are applying reddit like standards. hot/new/top type things.

There's a chance here for a better way. I'm not entirely sure what that better way might be, but its where we should be guiding our discussion right?

Here's an example. Facebook went to some kind of algorithm to show things it thinks your want. Nearly every person I know sets it back to chronological order.

Now, that may be harder to deal with as the noise level in /v/all or increases. I have an idea there.

Sort all or the defaults with an algorithm. But sort your own Front of subscription subverses defaulting to New.

I agree we need to find the best way. I don't think the current way is the best way. New users, will get the impression that things are stagnant here, simply because new posts are way down the list. Some of these users might think it's due to insufficient user base, and leave the site for good. I think things as they are now, makes it harder for voat to compete.

Economists will say it's all about incentives. So, how do you incentivise new content? A third kind of scoring for a user? Perhaps based on number of submissions and comments (ignoring upvoats), minus downvoats? If that number is positive, give their new submissions the same algorithmic weight as something with one voat.
